Re: Where do you get tires from?
I got a pair from Amazon (Motorcycle Superstore) in March, $16.99 + 6.99 shipping for a total of $40.97, but the price is now higher.

Re: full throttle bogging/dying
It sounds like it is running too lean. Is it a Spree? Clean the air filter, then make sure that the airbox is all there, tight, and you have no air leaks into the carb.

Re: Interested in another go at purchasing a Honda Spree
That's not an outrageous price considering time of year and location. Money talks - show up cash in hand and make an offer. I made a recent purchase with prints of two Craigslist ads at lower than asking price from across the country and that helped me get the price down $125. It never hurts to ...

Re: 87 Spree Fuel Gauge inop
Book says something about a broken or shortened balancing coil? Where is that located and how can I test it?
Can I just buy a new gauge cluster (assuming that's where this balancing coil thing is?)
Just throwing out ideas since no one else is...

Re: 86 Spree only goes 26mph
Bill,
How much do you weigh? How are you measuring speed - speedo or GPS? Sprees aren't fast. Mine goes 28-30 indicated/26-28 GPS on flat ground with a 175 lb driver. I believe that is normal for a Spree.

Re: Honda Spree Idles high and cuts out on WOT
I just went through a similar problem.
You said you checked for air leaks - how and where?
I would disassemble the carb and make sure every orifice is open. Trust me on this. It is not obvious if one or more are plugged. The detailed Wikispreedia text and pictures for this are your friend. Take ...

Re: 84 spree
Only had my Spree for a short time but my impression is that it is a fun small scooter, but definitely not fast. It is tiny and lightweight; I can easily lift it into my minivan to take along on road trips, which was my main purpose. It has no varator and is very slow to get moving, especially with ...

Re: Just crazy
When I bought my Spree, I ran across a site that consolidated descriptions and prices from across the country. I printed off ads for two that were in similar condition, actually a bit better, and a much lower price than the seller was asking, and brought them along. Even though the other scooters ...

Re: Spree graphics
Thanks. It's vinyl, cut using a Silhouette SD cutter, kinda like a printer with a blade. The software lets you import images and trace cut lines from them. For the Spree logo, I took a before photo of my scooter, cleaned up the image and fattened the lines a bit using a free drawing program paint ...

Got 'er done
I like the way this turned out. I was thinking of doing something up front, but sometimes less is more, so I'm done. The headlight cover was a bit scratched up. I found that an Ace Hardware rattle can red matched fairly well. Look closely and you can see that the inner tube dust caps are a pair of ...
