Throttle Problem

Wel, my 84 Spree ran great for 6 months, and I thought all the issues were fixed. I went out this morning and the throttle was REALLY hard to turn, like it didn't want to move at all. Well, I tried turning it again, and it came loose, but too loose.....

The throttle has no snap back when released ...

I guess you can see some similarities. It's a paint job I'd had planned for awhile. Now I just need some side panels to paint...

Almond and Burgundy Spree!

I got tired of my plain black paint job, so I repainted her with a 50's Vespa in mind. I was going for that classic scooter look, and from what everyone tells me, I pulled it off.

I sanded and paint continuously for 4 days for it to come out the way it did. I have to sand down stickers that had ...

Re: Spree Exhaust Rusted On...Can't get off

I WD40'd the f*** out of it, and it still won't budge. As it is, I have to take the shock off so I can have enough space to get the ratchet on the bolt.

Spree Exhaust Rusted On...Can't get off

Just like the title says, the exhaust on my '84 Spree is severely rusted, and no matter what I do, I can't get the bolts to budge at all. I want to take it off so I can paint the exhaust and rear wheel.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Re: who needs a big bore kit to go over 30mph (Spree)

Well *, next time I'm riding mine, I'll take a pic of the speedo. I have a stock 84 Spree that get's over 30mph. And I weigh 260+ a backpack full of books. I get over 30 with nothing done to my spree.

Re: Need help getting 1985 honda spree running again

First off, NEVER use starting fluid on a 2-Stroke!!! It will dry off the cylinder walls and can really damage your cylinder!

Is the gas and oil new? If so, get out your multimeter and go through the Spree Manual to check for what it says should be proper readings.

If the bystarter is the problem ...

Re: Manual Choke

Well, the real test will be after it gets colder and it sits for a few days. It's 55 here in Wichita, and I went out and it fired right up, without flipping the choke at all. I'm going to let it sit for a few days to see if this will help with hard times getting it started after it sits and when it ...

Re: Manual Choke

You were right, I was running WAY rich. The air screw was screwed ALL the way in. There is visible space between the collar and the top plastic, and does move a considerable bit. We had a cold snap a few weeks ago, and the bystarter was in the warm position then too. And it was like 40 outside.

Re: Manual Choke

And my by-starter is stuck in the "hot" position, making cold starts a pain in the butt.

Re: Manual Choke

Which way do I screw the air screw to make it less rich?

Here are pics of it installed:
